Ways to Support Poydras Home

• Annual Appeal

  Poydras Home’s Annual Appeal is the cornerstone of giving. The Annual Appeal is solicited in April through the end of each year with an annual defined area of focus as a designated gift. Gifts to the Annual Appeal support Poydras Home’s mission to enrich the lives of seniors and their families through personalized care and innovative programming in an intimate, compassionate community.

• Annual Fundraiser

  Poydras Home’s Annual Fundraiser: Julien’s Jubilee is a much-anticipated, cocktail-style, ticketed event held on our campus on the fourth Thursday in October, is Poydras Home’s annual fundraiser event. This is an unrestricted fund that can be utilized for any needs of Poydras Home.

• Memorial Gifts

  Memorial Gifts are donations specified in honor of or in memory of a named Poydras Home resident or resident family. Making a gift to Poydras Home in honor of or in memory of loved ones directly supports our mission. These thoughtful contributions offer special recognition of a kindness received or service rendered.

• The Employee Appreciation Fund

  The Employee Appreciation fund is a season gift, solicited through a letter in December originating from the CEO’s office, that benefits hourly and non-leadership employees of Poydras Home. This fund is a way for residents and their family members to reward exceptional service by employees as a group. It serves as a holiday bonus for employees.

• The Poydras Home Endowment

  The Poydras Home Endowment fund is solicited directly to individuals of capacity as a way to ensure our future as a Continuing Care Retirement Community while perpetuating our mission through the next generations.

• Planned Giving

  The future of Poydras Home depends on the foresight and generosity of our community. Though cash gifts are the most common means of support, strategic charitable gifts offer significant opportunities to reduce current and future tax obligations, generate income, and ensure your gift becomes a legacy that benefits Poydras Home for years to come. Options include giving through your will, gifting securities, donating real estate, giving through life insurance, and giving through charitable trusts. Donors should consult their attorneys and/or financial advisors for tax information specific to their circumstances.
